CHAPTER IV - Food in NL

>>> Traditional food

Traditional Dutch food however, was based on potatoes, usually with meat and boiled vegetables, and lots of gravy. Dutch people eat a lot of dairy foods.

 In The Netherlands, people eat 3 meals a day. Nowadays the evening meal is the main meal of the day, but country people and older Dutch people often still traditionally serve the main meal at midday, with a lighter evening meal.
At the start of a meal, a parent or host will often say 'eet smakelijk' (say it like this: ATE smahk-A-lick), which means 'Eat deliciously'. The Dutch eat with a fork in the left hand and knife in the right.

Nevertheless, in my school we don't really have a lunch time every day. I heard that the main reason is easier to manage the space for everybody (around 30000 people). By cutting, the lunch time most of people have to take a quick lunch like a sandwich or salad. Thus, they are quick and they eat at different time avoiding traffic jam in the caferia.

Breakfast taken during the kick off

With that I remember my British Breakfast (salt and sweet)

Speciality in Hollande
                                           Cheese
Too much cheese ... Kill the cheese

                                          Yoghurt
They are cheap and good and there are so many different tastes.

Salads, Haring, Beers
 Traditional Dutch salads based on potatoes: quite good ; Surprising haring but tasty ; Great Beers of course

                                        Fast Food

Fedo, cheap, hot, and quick food
Careful the machine don't give money back !

Fast food are quite useful cos they are open until 4am
So, after clubbing they are f****** busy
